The ACC is adding a new senior executive from the motorsports world. Anthony Macri, the head of commercial in the U.S. for the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, is set to become the league’s first Chief Revenue Officer, sources tell Sports Business Journal. An official announcement is expected today.
Macri will be charged with exploring new lines of business for the league, along with maximizing existing avenues. He will report directly to ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips and serve on the league’s executive staff.
Macri’s hiring comes less than a week after the ACC announced that Marques Zak, head of multicultural marketing at American Express, had joined the conference as its first chief marketing and brand officer.
