Sportico's Invest London Unveils Agenda with Global Sports Leaders
Sportico is bringing the sports business industry’s premier event series to London next week. Taking place Oct. 6 at Fulham Pier, Invest London will convene leaders across sports, finance, media and technology to explore where the industry’s next wave of growth will come from. Today, Sportico unveils an agenda spanning global football ownership, basketball’s European ambitions, women’s sports investment, the technologies changing how fans experience the game and more.
Sir Mohamed Mansour of Man Capital and Mansour Group will headline “Building a Global Soccer Pyramid,” a conversation examining global soccer ownership, academy networks and investment across markets.
European football will also take center stage in “The Business of Football,” featuring AC Milan’s Massimo Calvelli, Wrexham AFC’s Shaun Harvey, Sunderland AFC’s Tom Burwell and Elevate’s Olly Dale. The panel will explore how clubs build global businesses through commercial growth, fan engagement and international expansion.
In “NBA Europe: Building Basketball’s Next Global Asset,” the NBA’s George Aivazoglou, J.P. Morgan’s Eric Menell and Sixth Street’s Josh Empson will examine the opportunity for NBA basketball in Europe, including the role of institutional capital and the potential to create long-term franchise value.
The NFL’s international ambitions will be the focus of “The NFL’s Global Playbook,” with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment’s Kevin Demoff, Sportscorp’s Marc Ganis and the NFL’s Henry Hodgson discussing the league’s European growth and what comes next.
Monarch Collective’s Jasmine Robinson and PCP Capital Partners’ Amanda Staveley will join “The New Economics of Women’s Sport” to offer insights into the ownership models, valuations and commercial opportunities shaping investment in the category.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil will explore the league’s next chapter in “LIV Golf 2.0: Building the Next Era,” covering sustainable team businesses, global expansion, audience growth and commercial partnerships.
The agenda will also examine how investors and entrepreneurs identify—and build—the next major sports properties. Liberty Global’s Andrea Salvato and CNC Partners’ Rick Hess will discuss emerging opportunities across technology, media and live events in “Investing in the Next Generation of Global Sport.”
