Adam Benson Appointed CEO
Burton Albion are delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Benson as the Club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Benson brings a wealth of experience across professional sport and is currently Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer at Oxford United, where he is also part of the management team leading on their new stadium project.
He has held senior executive and commercial roles at Wasps and Gloucester Rugby, as well as Reading Football Club during their time in both the Premier League and Championship. Adam, who joins the Brewers in late December, will lead the Club’s strategic direction together with Sporting Director Richard Dorman and oversee the long-term business objectives of the commercial departments at the Pirelli Stadium.
Chairman Wouter Gudde said: “After an extensive recruitment process, I am delighted to welcome Adam to Burton Albion. He brings a wealth of leadership and business experience to the Club, with a track record of revenue growth and operational delivery that suits the vision we have here. He will also bring fresh perspectives as we continue to build a sustainable future for every part of the football club.”
On his appointment, Adam said: “I am incredibly proud to be entrusted with the role of Chief Executive Officer at Burton Albion and would like to thank Wouter and the ownership group for the opportunity.
“It was clear from the very first conversation that the Club and its vision is aligned with my own values of ambition, hard work and integrity. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to working with the wider team, Club Partners and the fans.”
As with every senior appointment in the top five tiers of English Football, Adam’s move is subject to both IFR and EFL approval.
