Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Shortlisted in AHEAD Asia Awards 2026
We are incredibly proud to announce that our work and one of our most recent projects, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur has been shortlisted in AHEAD Asia Awards 2026.
To have the project recognised across two distinct categories; Lobby and Guestrooms, is a deeply rewarding milestone for our team. For us, these nominations are especially meaningful because they celebrate two spaces designed with entirely different purposes, energy, and design ethos, yet bound together by a single, cohesive narrative.
Our design concept for the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Malay Kampung House (specifically the Rumah Panggung, elevated above the ground).
The Guestrooms: Private Sanctuaries
In stark contrast to the lively, fluid energy of the public spaces, the 252 guestrooms and suites are conceived as ultimate private retreats.
Here, the focus shifts to serenity and residential warmth. We introduced modern interpretations of the traditional veranda by the windows, complete with daybeds framing panoramic views of the city skyline. Tactile linen wall panels, delicate brass detailing, and flexible timber shutters allow guests to seamlessly connect or partition the living and bath areas, mirroring the spatial fluidity of a traditional family home.
The Lobby: The Social Heart
Just as the traditional family home centres around communal areas, the Lobby on Level 75 is designed as the social heart of the hotel. It is an open, intuitive, and highly tactile space where guests naturally gravitate, linger, and interact.
We utilized double-height volume, natural timber, and intricate perforated brass screens etched with batik patterns. As the sunlight shifts throughout the day, these screens cast moving shadows across the floor, creating a warm, dynamic, and welcoming atmosphere.
