The NFL fully intends to establish itself in France. For the first time, an official match will be played in Paris on October 25th, with the match between the New Orleans Saints and the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Stade de France. In this context, Matthieu Maignal has just been appointed director of the NFL's French subsidiary. The position did not exist until now, which demonstrates the league's desire to establish a lasting presence in this market.

His task will be to to manage the league's business activities and development across the entire French territory. The NFL even plans to open an office in Paris that holds the top spot. "I am delighted to join the NFL at this point in its history in France," reacted Matthieu Maignal. "Organizing the first regular season game at the Stade de France is a major milestone for the sport in our country, and I'm proud to be a part of it. But the ambition goes far beyond October: the league is here to stay, and my goal is to offer French fans a regular event throughout the year, and not just for the duration of a Sunday."

Matthieu Maignal previously held the position of Director of Commercial Partnerships within the Professional Football League. He also worked for Paris La Défense Arena, Paris Saint-Germain, Amaury Sport Organisation, and Sportive. "As we approach our first match in Paris and beyond, Matthieu will play a crucial role in our long-term success and in strengthening our presence in this market by putting in place ways for the NFL to interact with its French fans, both new and existing, throughout the year," adds Brett Gosper, Head of Europe & APAC of the NFL.

Elevate's executive search team was approached to lead this placement.
