Introduction
We were asked by the England & Wales Cricket Board to find a new Chief Financial Officer who will deliver an innovative, forward-thinking business infrastructure internally at the ECB and across the cricket network.
Challenge
The new CFO will join at a time of great opportunity, with an established new leadership team in post for over 12 months and six new Non-Executive Directors appointed to the Board at the beginning of 2023. The person will play a key role in developing and overseeing the financial health of the ECB as well as supporting commercial growth and shaping the organisation’s strategic direction.
Solution
Elevate conducted a search encompassing the government, charity and corporate sectors. With organisational transformation at the fore, past experience was essential as were the leadership traits prevalent in effective ‘change’ leaders. By championing the groundbreaking Strategy 2022+, Simon Hayes, the selected candidate, shifted the organization’s focus toward a customer-centric model that has been instrumental in developing a world-leading property market for England and Wales. He now brings this wealth of experience in strategic transformation and organizational excellence to his work with Sport England.
